"History will be kind to us, for we intend to write it."

Welcome to our web site!    The San Ramon Valley Times wrote an article on 29 December 1991: " ... a U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary flotilla has surfaced in landlocked San Ramon, yielding so far more than 25 members ... In November, 42 graduates completed the 13-week course, and about a dozen of them plan to join...."

In the Navigator issue of 1993 you can read: "At NACON 1993, Flotilla 91 was selected to win the MOST INNOVATIVE FLOTILLA AWARD IN PUBLIC EDUCATION. This award, first given in 1992, was created to provide a tangible incentive for flotillas to share good ideas- "portable" innovations able to be employed by others …". This award was followed in 1994, 1995 and 1997 with the National Boating Federation award and year after year with District, and Division awards for being the Best Flotilla in Public Education.

In 1996 we experienced something new again, by giving the Boating Safely Class together with Station San Francisco, to teenagers, and other special groups. By 1997 we started to visit Health and Safety Fairs, and by 1998 we had established ourselves in 16 schools, with three non-profit organizations, and several youth organizations. We also added more parades and children fun and information booths to our activities. Many positive changes happened in the Coast Guard and our Coast Guard Auxiliary, and our Flotilla took part in making them happen. Our members made a difference. We linked our Public Education Program together with all missions and melted together with the Coast Guard as "Team Coast Guard Niner-One". The last years were very exciting as we grew closer together, establishing traditions as a Flotilla and as "Team Coast Guard Niner-One".

On January 1, 2002 Divisions 02 and 09 were restructured and combined into Division 12.  To retain our "Niner One" name recognition we became flotilla 11N-12-91.

Ralph Waldo Emerson once said: "The reward of a thing well done is to have done it."
